Deadlift
1-10-1-20-1-30
Same scoring as yesterday

I'd like you all to take a look at this article by Melissa Urban (formerly Byers). Perhaps the allure of the Sexy Metcon will strike home with some of you. Everyone enjoys a huff and puff workout, but it is rare for someone to truly enjoy/embrace the benefits of lifting heavy at first. Some of you out there are still leery of them when there is nothing to be afraid of. I'm not asking you to specialize, I'm just reminding you not to miss workouts you don't like.
Think of it as eating your vegetables (which you should be doing anyways). You've got to eat your vegetable (strength and 5k's) before you can have desert (Fran, Diane and Filthy Fifty). Strength and muscular endurance are the foundations upon which our fitness is built.

  1. I used to skip the heavy days when I first started CF but Nate told me about how important those days are and now I like heavy days cuz I think it's a nice break from all the other stuff we do.

I really like the rowing 5k but I haven't built up enough courage to try the 5k run cuz I hate running long distance. I always try to somehow get out of running, which is something I need to work on.

    Anyway, good point, Paul
Specialize in nothing. Excel in everything.

  2. Man I hate missing these last two heavy days! They look hard and fun. Like Paul said, doing my heavy days has definitely helped my metcon days. The synergy of Crossfit works!

  4. Merry Christmas you guys! I'm in a world of pain after yesterdays fun fest - my legs feel like lead and I needed a fork lift to get out of bed. I don't understand how you can equate veggies to a 5K and desert to Fran, Filthy 50.
Nate, how was Disneyworld? I didn't know you were into disco.
